Mediation - Case Study
The Client
A university college in the UK. The Objective Paralysed by a conflict between the academic staff and the housekeeping team. The Strategy We were asked to mediate and began by meeting with each party separately to understand their perceptions, build a relationship, establish what was possible and lay out a path forward. The parties were then brought together and were asked to state what they ideally wanted and what they believed the other party wanted. This in itself clarified misunderstandings and laid a basis for exploring options. As we explored the possibilities, so we identified the practicalities of implementing each until over several hours the parties agreed on a path forward. The Result By bringing both parties together and enabling them to see each others side, they agreed to work together and move forward which allowed the university to get back to a state of normality. |
